How do I test a monitor for dead or stuck pixels?
Clean the screen, use its native resolution, and step through white, black, red, green, and blue patterns in fullscreen. A spot that stays black on every bright color may be a dead pixel; a spot fixed on one color may be stuck. Dust usually changes appearance when viewed from a different angle.
Inspect from normal viewing distance first, then move closer. Pixel policies vary by manufacturer, so document defects with the monitor model and purchase date while the return period is still open.

What does a gray uniformity or geometry test show?
A gray uniformity test reveals darker bands, color tinting, and dirty-screen effect that may be hidden in colorful images. Check it at your usual brightness because extreme settings can exaggerate normal panel variation.
The gradient pattern helps reveal banding, while the geometry grid makes scaling, alignment, and curved lines easier to spot. Keep the browser zoom at 100% and the display at native resolution for the clearest result.
